Anybody have Information on Dr. Henry Laurens Battle? just checked out the stats on my site and saw this as a search.
My Dad was born in Wadley, Georgia in 1918. His name was Johnie L. May. I have been unable to find any information, birth records or family history. His mothers name was Leila Gibbons (Wellesley), born approximately 1895, not sure where. My father told me stories about how he went into town to work in the mills. I wonder if it’s the pictures I’m looking at. He passed away in 1990 and I don’t have any concrete history to pass on to my kids. Can you please help?

I’m glad you took the initiative to set up and maintain this site. Otherwise, this important piece of our history might be forgotten. I have many relatives who were born and grew up in and around Wadley. I have fond memories of when the family gathered to spend Christmas Days at “Aunt Kates” in Wadley. I have some historical material relating to Wadley I would like to submit for posting on the website. Keep up the good work!
