Sarah Moye:

 

  

Sarah Moye was born in the New Bern District in North Carolina In Pitt County.This is a coastal area therefore we may surmise that it was the place where her ancestors entered into the US.

There’s no record of who her husband was. There is three of the Moyes listed in the 1843 tax digest of Jefferson County: James, William, and George

She died in 1852 leaving 550 Acres of land to her sons, Benajah and James. She donated the land for the Methodist Church in Bethany as well as space for the cemetary and was the first person to be buried there.

The original Moye home stood across the street from the new family home built in 1851.
